The First Americans

Long ago North America was very different from the way it is today.There were no cities or highways.There were no schools or stores.But even long ago people lived in communites.They made their homes,food and clothing from the plants and animals that lived around them.The builders of these early communities were Indians-the first Americans.
 Indians are also called Native Americans.A native is someone who was born in a place.The name Native American helps us remember that the Indians were the first people to live on the continent of North America.
